- Sarah Shiels
Sarah was born in Halifax, NS. She studied philosophy and biology at McMaster University in Hamilton, ON prior to attending law school at Dalhousie University, where she graduated with a certificate in marine law. Sarah articled at Wickwire Holm and was called to the Nova Scotia Bar in 2013. She has lived with her husband Michael in Yarmouth, NS since 2014.
Sarah loves working with entrepreneurs and is proud to support Atlantic Canada’s small business community. She has a particular focus on marine law and routinely acts for commercial fishing enterprises in relation to licensing, sales, agreements, employee concerns, dispute resolution, and regulatory compliance. Sarah also advises ports and harbour authorities throughout the Maritimes regarding property use and development, berthage/user agreements, and enforcement. She maintains a general practice in wills & estates and real estate law.
Sarah has represented clients before all levels of court in Nova Scotia.
